Moving To Rhode Island

Good morning, friends!

As some of you know, I just moved to North Providence, RI (if you want my new mailing address feel free to ask me). The move happened last Saturday, but let me back up to three weeks before the move happened. On May 12th, 2012 I graduated from Messiah College with a degree in engineering.

Graduation day was hectic, finished the ceremony around 11:45 and had to be out of my apartment by 1:50. While yes, I was mostly packed up it was still quite the time crunch. However I was very glad to get to see Jane's and my families and spend some time with them. After graduation I didn't feel like much had change. This was probably due to the fact that I moved to Dr. Foster's house in Dillsburg and went from working 25 hours at week at Stine Consulting to 40 hours. So, I was living in the same area and seeing the same people everyday. That all started to change last Thursday.

On Thursday May 31st, Jane came to Dillsburg to pick me up. That is when I started to feel the full effect of graduating, I was leaving the Grantham area, my physical home for the last four years. On Friday we packed up Jane's car, her dad's car, and her poppop's trailer for our move on Saturday. On Saturday Jane, her dad, Jennie (her sister), her step-dad, her grandparents, and Abby (her grandparents' dog) left for North Providence. We were able to get everything into the apartment fairly quickly. Once everything was in everybody left except for me, Jane, and Jennie. They help me to get some stuff arrange, but it wasn't long before they too had to head back to Jersey, leaving me all by myself for the next month.

For the majority of the first couple of days I organized the apartment, and while it is not entirely put together yet, here are some picture of it. First, our bedroom. While it is very small it is very nice. It has a walk in closet and a vaulted ceiling.

The kitchen is wonderful, mostly because it is only enclosed by a breakfast bar that separates it from the dining and living areas.

The living room!
The dining room (I don't really know if it is big enough for that maybe "dining nook" would be better).
And lastly a picture taken from the bedroom looking out into the other area. Immediately to the left is the dining nook, to the right is the kitchen, and straight on the is the living area. As you can see the who apartment (all two rooms) has vaulted ceilings!
Though it is small, Jane and I are very excited in having a place to call our own and a place to build our nest. I can't wait 'til we are married and she gets to join me here!
